Default Installed new rear hub assembly, normal for bearing to be stiff?

specific to rear disc brakes with a bolt on hub assembly, installed a new hub assembly, anyone ever had this experience with the new bearings? it is properly installed and torqued to factory spec. I was told once i drive it the bearing will free up but i want to double check before test driving that this is normal for it to be hard to turn the bearing before driving on the new one.

like how stiff are you talking? to the point where you have to put a lot of muscle in it to turn the wheel or just its take a very little effort, but dosent just spin like a top?

^ That.
The bearing/hub should be move freely and easily.

Take the car out for a drive.

its not on right then. it should be easy to turn, but should feel like its sticky like honey. you can turn it easily, but it wont keep spinning when you stop.
