Video: Vegas 2012 Gamblers Race coverage with KAIZENSPEED
First of all let me say "thank you" to all of the racers that helped us this weekend. Especially Jason Parks and Locash! To all the other racers and friends you know who you are.
The issues started for us Saturday night before even getting into tech. We sorted it all out before leaving the track Saturday night but we didn't get to qualify until Sunday. The second qualifier on Sunday left us with a sheared passenger side axle, mid shaft. We thought we were dead in the water, but Locash and Parks wouldn't give up on finding us an axle so..... when a 5.9 showed up to our trailer on a pit bike we got right into swapping the inner cup. 15 minutes later we were in first round eliminations against James at Speedfactory. It was going to be a good race until, in third gear we had the passenger side axle break and the spool sent me towards the wall. If there's one thing I hate more than anything it's losing to my friends at SF so I stayed in it for an instant... but with the wheel turned left it was still heading right with a quickness. I managed to keep it off the wall, and after drifting for a hundred feet or so I got it straightened out.
We were pretty burned out after the close-call so we didn't get any video of Locash's destruction of the field but those videos are out there. Once again, thanks to everyone and congratulations Joe on the win and Dinallo for a great final race!
Here's a video that our friend Ray shot and edited. Lots of footage of the race and some car show stuff in the middle. Aaron and crew, Hobbs, Zol, everyone else... it was good to catch up. See you soon.
