My 90 hatch started running like crap i took the dizzy off and the car just started the cycle of crap, it would start but run even ******* and stall under load, and cough stared happening and smoke started shooting out of the intake, so i just went on a rampage of changing things that include
-the head
-timing belt
- water pump
-dizzy cap and rotor and ignitor
-plugs and wire
-checked the timing
-main relay
-tensioner

After the head change the cough lighted up to occinally im at my wits end
Its not starting and making a coughing noise when i try to start it its a d15b2 any help would be awesome

 

maybe clogged cat????

 

The cat is off at the moment so can't be that

My car is shooting gas back up though the throttle, any one know how to get it straight

 

backfiring? running too rich?

 

its not even starting, i though it was the dizzy change the ignitor, then got another dizzy nothing, i checked my plugs to the dizzy and no cuts or frays, i have no idea what it could be, i keep checking the timing and its like i adjust it and its on but no love, ill get a vid up of its doing as soon as i can

 

Advance the timing using a distributor. I had a civic that wouldn't start. Advanced the timing and started up after a year!!!

 

Basics: Spark? Fuel? Compression?

 

If you're shooting fuel into and or out of the intake and you're possibly getting pop-back basically, sounds like mechanical timing is off.
