98 accord 4 cyl making clunking noise.
Hello, i'm new to this site and was hoping that you guys could help me solve a problem i'm having with my accord. I recently replaced my passenger side cv axle due to it leaking grease. While removing it, i noticed the lower ball joint was torn. I did move things around to try to get the old axle out. After i replaced it, it was fine, but now i get this clunking noise when i come to a complete stop and when i accelerate. Could this be due to the torn ball joint, or could it be the axle?(bought the axle from autozone) I greased the groves or splines (i think that's how they are are called) on the axle and tightened everything to the manufactures torque specs. I also get some play when i jack my car up from the passenger side wheel when i move it from left to right. I'm trying to figure out what it could be before i start buying parts for it. But the question here is, could this clunking be caused by the ball joint? It does not do the clunking noise when i turn left or right, so i don't know. please help.
