2000 Accord EX goes thunk!!
Hi all. I am a noob here so please be patient. My 2000 Accord EX has 150K miles. When I am driving, periodically I hear a Thunk noise. This happens primarily when making turns, driving on rough roads or when the car comes to a stop. Now I've had people tell me Ball Joints, or Tie rods or rack and Pinion. There is no shimmying, wobble, or vibration. I had noticed that last time I replaced the front tires that there was excessive wear on the inside edge of both tires.
I read somewhere that to check ball joints that you jack up the front and attempt to move the wheels to see if there is play. I tried it and saw no play nor did i hear the noise. I'm leaning towards Ball joints as the culprit but really have no clue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Excessive inside tire wear usually means it's in need of an alignment. The clunk could be the cv axle and or ball joint, I had a similar sound with my old accord. Don't fall for backyard mechanic diagnosis just take it in to get checked out.
