my new 2012 si.
Just wanted to share my car and ask if there is any word on interchangeability between the older k series and the si's k24z7? Some things that definitely need upgrading is the factory clutch and the tune.
Head, Intake, Cams, etc from the type R or tsx. If I start buying after market parts for it what other engine should I buy them under? I've looked for a clutch and other parts but no one has a 2012 specific parts.
I love the look of the new 2012 si's, not many people do but it's grown on me, especially the new instrument cluster how its all together with the climate control, can you post pics of the engine bay and interior? thank you

Also why in need of a clutch, you burn it up already?

Unless they drastically altered the clutch for the k24 si, it should be pretty reliable. I've been running the same clutch since 2008, and it still runs fine. The CMC on the other hand...ehh...
I ran a stock clutch on a very aggressive B18C1 build and never had a problem. Unless you are boosting and making considerably more torque than stock, you will be fine.

anyone who hates the way the new four door looks needs to take a step back and have a big fat hand backslap you in the face. ive seen the newest next to the older and the newer looks so much better. this car is the ****. kpro and some bolt ons and your good to go
If your car is stock, why do you need more grip from a clutch? I've been running the original clutch in my '07 Si and it has 80,000 miles...no issues. It is easy to mess up the drive-ability of car by installing an aggressive clutch, especially when there is no need for it. You are spending money on something that is a total waste.

Its just a personal preference, I'd like the clutch to feel a little less "soft" when engaging into the next gear. Horsepower isn't the only reason to upgrade a clutch.
lol. You've had the car what, a month maybe? Just drive it and don't worry about the little things.
I swear, people are mod-happy, even if it makes the car worse to drive or affects reliability/warranty. And come on OP, do some research before you go looking at camshafts. Did you not notice the reduced redline or the vtec setup on the '12? No way K20 cams are gonna work. And even if they did, the lower redline of the new car won't let them perform at their peak.
And to thwart the next question...no, you cannot make the K24 rev past 8K unless you want to pick up little pieces of the motor off of the road. The K24 has a much longer stroke. This = increased piston speeds. A K20 spinning at 7000rpms has slower piston speeds than a K24 spinning at 7000rpms.
