EF7 shopping list - same as USDM crx??
Stupid questions probably but Id like to be sure. Im orderring a heap of parts online through rock auto and ebay mostly. And theres a few parts I want to replace that I dont know which car/trim etc to buy.
The car is an 89 jdm honda crx si. Dohc zc motor.
Are the brakes the same as a crx si here? It has 4 wheel disk brakes and I dont think 89's have that here so Im not sure what to buy. I want new rotors and pads for all 4 corners.
The cars outer tie rods have alot of play and easy movement and the one's boot is almost completely missing it is so destroyed. Might aswell do the inner tie rods if Im going to do the outer. Are they the same as USDM crx tie rods?
I also need new stabilizer end bushings but Im probably going to find poly ones. Same as USDM?
Im also curious what size ID the small vacuum line is on our intake manifolds/firewall. The size that goes to the FPR and a few ports on the intake and MAP sensor. I measured and got about 4mm but wasnt sure what the spec size is.
Thanks guys

but the usdm si's didnt have disc brakes in the rear in 89 did they? But the rear discs of a 90-91 USDM and pads aswell you think would work??
Im having trouble getting a definitive answer

I know the SiR have the bigger breaks but I'm with you in thinking the ZC had the same as USDM si since it is an earlier lighter model. Try to match parts for an 88-89 usdm SH2. I also know that the cross members on the EF8 and EF9 were different but once again your car would be a pre-facelift so it should have the same basic body as an early usdm 2nd gen

EF7 were pretty close to usdm models as far as brakes, steering, and suspension go. Matching parts for an EF8/EF9 is where it gets tricky, and some EF7 parts might be the same as EF8 as well.
EF8/EF9 front knuckles are different than any usdm civic or integra, but the calipers are the same as a DA integra or DB2 GS-R according to an old write-up I had read.
Because the knuckles are different, these have outer tie rods that don't match up to any usdm part number, I ordered one from a source in Japan for my EF8 but apparantly you can shorten the threaded end of a usdm Si outer tie rod and make that work, inner tie rods are the same as usdm though. So with that being said, usdm tie rods are your best bet and you just have to do some trimming in the case EF7 knuckles are the same.
ill answer it easily
suspension since its a zc ef8 not sir front brakes are from the si rear brakes are from the da9
suspension is all from ef usdm since its zc
engine parts will come from the 89 prelude 89 integra and accord the 89 accord if im right gotta look that up i do recomend you using a da9 dizzy with dizzy cam cap

If I remember tomorrow I'll check my parts catalog. Don't hound me for parts request or if this and that will work. I'll check the master cylinder and one or two other things.
