Burning oil in 1991 Accord, 240,000 miles
My Accord has 240,000 miles as of today. It has been burning oil ever since I replaced the oil, last November with 5w - 30w. A day later it was smoking like a mosquito fogger in Missisippi on a hot July evening; so, drained the oil again replacing it with 10w-40w. The problem lessened over a course for 4 days, but did not go away entirerly. A year ago and several time since November I check cylendar compression (dry and wet), all 4 read 110 PSI - the low limit.
The car is smoking again, seems to be getting worse. Particularly when starting in cool weather and when the car has been driven for a or so. I suspect values or worn rings may be the problem but do not know how to trouble shoot.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
JW

With worned valve stem seals, the car will puff out alot of grayish smoke as the oil would seep down and sits at the top of the valve neck overnight and/or at idle.
With worned oil control rings, the car will puff out smoke when you're on the acceleration.
