Default generic fog light help? diagram included

Hi guys
Newbie here.
So I've recently replaced the relay of my fog lights (it's not oem. it's the universal one that works virtually with any car) but my fogs now won't fire up any more. The relay clicks when I turn the lights on via the switch and I can hear and feel the relay click so that means that the relay and switch are working.
The fuse is fine and when I directly wire my lights to the battery, it works.
Any ideas on what might be wrong?

These were working before but the relay died hence why i replaced the relay.

Here's the diagram for my setup

Edit: new diagram

oops I guess i labelled the relay diagram wrong my bad
the lights are wired up at 87, switch at 85 and ground at 86
i wish my problem was that i wired them up wrong, that would've been an easier fix lol.
but yea anyways it still isnt working unfortunately

With a voltmeter, do you read battery on 87?

my switch is grounded because the instruction manual told me to do so. I'm guessing it's because there is a light that indicates if the lights are on or off.
And how do I used the voltmeter? Like where should i place the positive and the negative ends?

i finally got it fixed. something was wrong with the harness and i installed a new one and it works now.
anyway another question. my relay is a 40amp relay, and i tried installing a different switch but that didn't work. The box said it was rated at 16amps so is that the reason why it wasnt working?

Relay is rated at 40amps max. The switch, rated at 16amps max would mean that the switch would fail first if current flow was too high.
