What to do with rear garnish? Paint / sticker / tape , etc? Show me yours!
I switched from a red center garnish to a black one recently to save weight.
I like the continuity that a red center garnish provides however.
I have considered painting it a reflective red paint, but doubt it will match the tail lights.
What other ideas have you seen or done to your rear garnish?
I've considered sticker bombing it, or even trying red reflective tape.
Other ideas?

I figured he was joking to until he said paint the black one red so obviously he believes there's a weight difference. Can anyone confirm?
Don't sticker bomb it or put reflective tape on it

I've seen carbon fiber ones that actually save weight. The black garnish doesn't weigh any less than the red one FYI.

This is an autox car (SMF), and there is an update / backdate rule that allows the use of earlier or optional parts.
I have already used the clock delete, antenna delete, and passenger mirror delete in keeping with the ruleset.
I have weighed many parts and there is a significant weight savings:

wow OP, you are one of the longest standing members on this board, even longer than myself
Are you messing with the noobs or what?

Just so everyone knows...about 2 hours after i made my above post about wanting the red one. my friend showed up with it as a gift. i have been looking for one since i got the car 2 years ago....wahoo!
Rules are rules.
I must keep oem parts on the car, but can swap oem parts from other trim levels / years.
I've switched to earlier model doors and saved 5lbs per side.
I've heard that jdm built doors are 25lbs lighter each, so I'm on the lookout for some.
But please try to stick to the topic at hand guys; any cosmetic improvements you've made to the black rear center garnish?

0.6 lbs is alot when your building to class rules. Some of you guys would be very surprised what autox'ers will do to save weight.
I never knew there was any difference in weight between the 2 garnishes. Thanks for the info OP. I have no idea what to do to make yours look better though sorry.
