Default hard to start

main relay is good and no CEL codes. takes forever to start up (sometimes dies right after start up). If i rev after start up, the car is fine with no issues...exept maybe an idle rpm speed at about 700. starts right up when warm...maybe more turning over then before i had this problem but oh well.

im thinking maybe the ignition switch or sparkplugs but dont want to spend $ on either 1 if one or the other is still good....even if both are still good...

anyone else had this problem before?

oil on spark plugs maybe. takes a couple of cranks to burn it off to start.

Could be oil like he says . Could be engine temp sensor also.

well, the starter cranks kept getting slower and slower so i went to go get the battery tested and it turned out to be a bad battery. got a new battery and it seemed to be problem solved. started great for a few days....now im in the same boat with the hard start...im going to get my starting system tested.

i do have oil on the plugs and wires :/ also going to change the vcg

but will oily plug connections kill a battery? or did i just get a double dose of starting problems?

having the same problems still...cranking is staying strong with new battery, but still will only start when i RELEASE THE KEY. I dont see why oil on plugs would cause a car to start like that. sometimes have to crank over and over to get to start.

Now, just today, im starting to sputter accelerating from a stop in 1st gear 2-3000 rpm.

please help me, i would rather tackle this problem head on instead of fixing things that are fine already.

Change the valve cover gasket then report back. If plugs are oily they wont create a good spark to ignite the air fufuel mixturemixture. Do it and rreport back
