Default 94-95 vs 96-97 F22B1

Is there any difference? I am going to replace my motor and have seen these motors listed seperately. Can someone tell me what the difference is (if any). They look the same and have the same numbers. I assume they are the same between 94-97.

Thanks

94-95 = OBD1 and 96-97 = OBD2

The OBD1 has a FIA control system (fuel injection air control) in the intake manifold the OBD2 does not.
OBD1 has all three engine position sensors (TDC, CKP, CYP) located in the distributor. The OBD2 has only the CYP in the distributor, and the TDC and CKP mounted on the oil pump housing behind the crank pulley.

Ok, so in this case it does make sense to make sure its a 94-95 for me - or at least keep the existing distributor & intake manifold. The oil pump wouldn't need to be changed if I went with a 96-97 would it?

No, you'll just have an extra sensor there.
