Default No luck in Hybrid Forum

Driving the other day and tps broke on me. Shifting from neutral to lower gear until i was able to pull over, then car died. Got it home and noticed that the balance shaft belt was screwed. had maybe 9 ribs left on it. Bought new belt and tps and noticed a knock in the block. Inspected the crank, rods and bearings and all were good. So im guessing it has something to do with the balance shaft.
Motor is a 94 h22a

Not sure how to make the video smaller

Have you tried without the balance shaft to see if it the problem or not?

yeah take the belt back off the shafts and see if it's still doing it. If that's the culprit just ditch the shafts you don't need them anyway. You gain a few ponies and better oil pressure in the process if you do one of the BS eliminate kits.

I know this is bad business, but i turned the motor over a couple of times with the oil pan off, no oil circulated, and the noise wasnt there. Put the pan back on and tried it and it was there again. So yea its there even with the belt off.

So you slammed into something really hard, dented the oil pan into the pickup and broke your tps.

Your oil pump is probably trying to suck oil through and cavitating or something along those lines. Pull the pan back off, fix it, and see what happens.

No dents in oil pan though. the noise is coming from in between where the trans and engine meet. Riding on highway when this happened. No throttle response, but motor was still idling. then it just shut off.
