i am thinking of maybe building the crap out of my d16z6. i would like to go all motor..just seeing what kinda numbers are to be had for some all motor. probably a bunch of head work, and some high compresion pistons..better rods, sleeve the block. i dunno. i need to research more and find out what you should do and what isn't necessary if going N/A.

also considering maybe a 50-75 shot of zex. incase of an emergancy.? any suggestions? and NO, i am not swapping to a freakin b series. my stock z6 with intake and cheap header can hang right with a semi modded b16a rex, and pretty damn well with a modded itr. and i don't care if you believe me or not..i know its true..no reason to lie. thanks

 

well, i don't know who has the most whp from a sohc vtec. I do know that i'm shooting for the fastest n/a sohc vtec street driven car in my area. No turbo, nitrous or sc'er. i'm also leaving the block stock, hoping to hit mid 13's to very high 12's with suspension and slicks!!!

 

no kind of help at all, but VTC_CIVIC in civicland.com was pulling about 220hp with 210lbs to the wheels in his 98 civic w/ greddy kit...i think it was at 12-14 psi's...he has videos of it on makuragi.com or something like that...he posts in this site too, but its like slow_civic? something like that...i think his best time was 14.2 or low 14's

well i don't know what i should aim for on the 1/4 mile. never ran on one yet. the clostest one to me is like 2 hours away. so we stick to the cheap 8th.this guy around here with a black civic coupe is running 7.6 all motor with his sohc vtec. not sure if it is the y8 or the z6? and that is 8th mile...

he claims he has to fastest all motor sohc on the east coast or something?

as of now i have a y8 head on my crx si and a y8 intake manifold. car pulls very nicely. i have the zydne 1 wire conversion. high compression is great. i am planning on fully building it this winter. thinking about a zex cam and maybe nawz. i would like to stay all motor, i think it is more impresive than FI, but don't get me wrong i like turbos, nothing else like them
