Broken Wire from Hatch -> Chassis. Cant find it in the car. 3rd brake light!!
So Im going over this JDM Rrhd Crx Si I bought fixing the little things.
I noticed both the left side braking light and the 3rd high mount brake light werent coming on when hitting the brakes, no big deal, popped new bulbs in, but the 3rd brake light didnt work. Since the car has a NON ORIGINAL hatch, I figured the wires may need to be looked at

Sure enough I popped open the hatch grommet for the hatch/chassis and found an unconnected wire, it looks like they simply cut and spliced the wires together when they put the red hatch on the car. The broken wire is a GRN/WHT which is the same color as the wire on the 3rd brake light so Im assuming this is the problem.
So I can see the wire coming from the hatch, but the wire coming from the chassis is non existant, tried looking in the close chassis holes etc and couldnt find it.
Can anyone tell me a good place to locate or run this wire from?

Can you pull back the rubber boot and see if it's hiding? It may have just been soldered poorly (or completely missed being soldered) and slipped out of the shrink tubing.
Ya I pulled the boot out, its not there, then I pulled the upper rear plastic for the back window on the inside, and I couldnt see it anywhere.
Basically Im just hoping to find where it originates from, and follow it til I find the end, or just splice and run a new wire

So it took me 2 hours to take all the rear panels out nicely. I find the harness that all the wires are connected to.... and theres no GRN/WHT in that harness......
So Im assuming it was left unconnected because there was no wire for it, did the JDM crx not have a high mount light?
Anyways I spent another hour soldering into the brake light bulb harness in the taillights and nicely running a 14 gauge wire up the factory 1/2 panel and thru the factory gronmet with a thick wire.
Came out beautiful, works perfect. But **** that ate up my whole day
