Someone just PM'ed me and said that it looked like it might be a Japan model SR400. I know nothing about bikes, but thought that it looked like a fun project to get into.

Oh that thing is easy. Yamaha xs650. HAHAHA. Seriously if ya wanna build a cafe racer, buy a yamaha xs 650 and start rippin everything off, tuck the wires, throw on some clip ons.
