some guy is trying to sell me a b16 tranny with a gsr 4th and an LS 5th gear. He says its the original 4.40 final and claiming 2000 rpm at 70-75mph. Smells fishy. My stock LS tranny now cant come close to that. Thoughts? I would want to run this on a 300whp LS turbo.

 

Yeah that's bs, don't buy it. If the ls motor is stock head you don't want super short b16 gears or that weird gear combo he's talking about. At best a GSR trans is where it's at. I am running GSR trans with ls final and 5th gear for highway driving which is nice .

 

that doesn't make any sense. even a stock ls with a 4.26 final drive is over 3000 at 70.

 

Yup. Thats what my thought was too. Cuz i have a 93 DA and I'm at like 32/3300rpm at 70-75mph with my stock ls tranny.

 

As a matter of fact, I have a 95 GSR tranny in my garage that won't go into reverse and a spare Hydro LS tranny too. Maybe i can do somethin here with these things.
