Default True Street Class Civic 9.23@152/9.24@156. New PB

Here’s my run from yesterday at the 16th Annual Spring National, Englishtown Raceway Park NJ

9.23@152 and the next pass was a 9.24@156 True Street Class Civic – BW67 FMW @ 2556lbs w/driver

I bought this car new back in 1997. I put a gsr motor in 1998, turbo it in 1999 (ran my first 11 sec pass in 99’) and retired it in 2003. The car sat in my driveway for 8 years and I got the bug back when I went to the Fall Nationals at Raceway Park in 2010. At first, I wanted to build a 10 second street car and run index… I brought it to Dynamic Performance in NJ as a shell last year, and this is where it is now.

I want to thank Dynamic Performance for all the help and guidance they have given me. Obviously the car won’t be where it is at if it wasn’t for them. Great customer service, top quality work and overall genuinely humble/nice guys!

Felix Medina – This guy is unbelievable. So much knowledge! I can’t say enough good things about him. Not only a great tuner, but a great person!

Dave @ Headgames Motorworks – Great work and great customer service! I’m glad you’re getting back into the Honda game!

Also I want to thank the companies that helped me along my build. Golden Eagle Mfg, Fuel Injector Clinic, CP Pistons, Full-Race, Ferrea, Clutch Masters, Joel@Speed Theory Research and Development and Eat Sleep Race! And of course my family and friends for all the support!!!

The car: 1997 Civic Ex

Short Block:
CP Flat Top Pistons
Manley Rods
Golden Eagle Sleeves
Fischer Machine
DP/Bart Built Block

Head:
Headgames Motorworks – Ferrea Valvetrain

Turbo and Manifold: Full-Race Top Mount Twin Scroll / BW67 FMW

Fabrication: Dynamic Performance

Engine Management/Tuning: Felix Medina – AEM V2

Trans: Gforce

There’s nothing special to my build. It was just done right by the right people. The pass never went past 35psi. At the dyno, the car made 786@34psi.

Here’s the timeslip

Here’s some pictures of my car:

Here’s what the car looked like when I brought it to Dynamic Performance: What a difference!
That’s Tim Grey of TGR helping me out. Been friends with this guy since the 90’s. Awesome guy!

I currently do not have my comp lic so I asked Allan to drive my car. His car was not ready, so this was the perfect opportunity to see what the car can do. I'll be getting my license soon and I will be driving the car at Summer Slam. Hopefully I can drive it as well as Allan!

Again, Thank you Dynamic Performance! You not only earned a customer but a friend for life!!!

Thanks guys. On the 9.2@152 pass, was about 32psi. On the 9.2@156, was about 34psi.

I'm extremely happy where the car is now. I'm not out there to break records, I just want to go out race and have fun. We will be keeping the boost levels the same when I drive it.

You are definitely getting the power down! Most traps I see are in the 160+ range, y'all have it doing work!

I like that you stuck with that car for so long. I bought a coupe in 1997 as well, brand new white EX. Kept it for a long time and ended up selling it to my best friend who completely trashed the car. It is good to see yours came out a lot better than mine!!!!

Good job, and it is good to hear positive feedback for a shop.

Thank you for letting us be a part of your build. I'm glad you are happy with the final product!! Now get in the car and drive it.

Can you get out of work early this Wed to get some license passes in at Englishtown? I texted you earlier, but didn't hear back from you. Call us!!
