Tires for AutoX?
I am thinking about getting some new tires. I got a 95 civic vx, which means that i have 13" vx rims. I want to get some tires, and i was checking out these sumitomo htr 200 tires. They are cheap, and "High performance" which seems like a good deal. I was just wondering what size i should get. Don't know whether or not to get the 175/70/13, or the 175/50/13. Do yall think that thinner tires would be better for autox? or should i get the thicker 70 profile tires? Keep in mind that slush events are in effect now, so theres going to be rain. Thanks.

There isn't really a wealth of choice of good high performance street tires in 13" sizes. If you are willing to spend a little more, you can get some Toyos RA1 in 205-60-13 or 185-60-13. The 205s will be a little stretched on a 5" rim but will still work well. The 185s are a better fit for the rim and will give you a little better acceleration, which the VX can use. Either size, by far, will outperform any street tire you can buy. The Toyos are quite good in the rain too, especially at full tread depth, 8/32"...
