Default What width rim and tire size to run on a dc drag car?

Ok here is the deal. The motor is a sleeved 2.0 lsvtec with a 6262. I'm not sure what kind of power it will make because i am at over 6000ft elevation. I was origionally gonna run a 3 piece widened front but came into money problems and I cant afford to do it this year. I have found cheap steel wheels on summit racing that are 13x8 or 13x10.

The 13x10 only have a 2 inch backspace but the 13x8 come in a 2,3,4, or 5 inch backspace. Keep in mind that the car has stock wheel wells/ fenders and is not lowered. I am looking for advice as to which rims to go with and what size tires for those rims.

Oh the car also gas a gsr transmission. I am also open to suggestions if anyone knows of a cheaper wheel, these are around $75 each. I am not looking for anything except for a cheap wheel so I can run the car this year.

My only other choice is to run the stock gsr wheels but i dont think they are wide enough to put a tire that can hold the potential horse power this build could make

"most" folks use the lenso 13x7.5 or the v2 wheels that are 13x8.

Ok but what is the proper backspace though?

First off what size slicks do you intend on running? 23/24.5/25/26x8/8.5/9/9.5/10?

6262 is a 600hp turbo your likely going to need 26"

Stock axles? Likely going to want 24.5"

What trans, LS you will want 23"

What redline?

Most steel wheels in 13" will need a spacer to clear the brakes on top of the backspace. Likely on a 13x8 your going to want a 5" backspace and possibly a 1" spacer to make room for brakes.

get the 13x8 with a 4" or 5" backspacing on a 24.5x9 M/T slick if you have a LS trans get 23" slicks.

I have a gsr tranny like I said in the original post. I'm gonna have it tuned to 9500 and I'm on dss 5.9's. The car is on civic brakes so I'm almost positive that the 13's will fit. As for tire size I'm not sure what will fit in the stock fenders but I want to run the tallest and widest tire I can fit.

Your limitations are: Stock fenders and stock trans. I would suggest not running a 26'' tire. I say you run the exospeed vdp/lenso 13x8 and call it good. When you upgrade your front end you can go wider, and when you get a dogbox, you can make the jump to 26's.

my .02 (I ran exospeed vdp 13x7.5 almost all last season about 670whp and ran consistant 1.6x 60's)

Ok thanks for all the input. I can not afford to run the lenso or v2 now that's why I was looking at the steel wheels. I have been talking to local guys also and think I have my problem solved. I'm gonna run a drag radial on stock wheels and take out easy on the launch using my boost by mph to get it down the track

Default 1990 DA9 Integra 1998 B20B Swap

Hey everyone I just got "my" first DA9 and it needs a new engine. Well not a problem cause I have a 98 CRV B20B engine to swap in its place.
Ive done swaps before so lm not new to the idea. I know how to pull the engine swap mounts and all that. What I don't know is the electrical.
every time I do a swap its complete because I pull everything out of one car, then tranceplant it all into the other car so I cheat death of the car.
this time I can't do that because both cars are really different. I know I'll need a few things to do the swap the right way. I know this is a common
swap to do so any info about what it takes to do it will be most helpful as a side note the car dose run and drive so everything works. So if any you guys and gals know please pass this info on to me I'll post pictures once I begin. Thanks for all your help

This topic was about rim/slick combinations yet to help out you should plug the DA engine harness onto the new motor and transfer the parts that don't have the same plugs. Ex distributor, injectors, alternator, etc. Take pictures and label every plug and if you cant figure it our send your car to a honda acura mechanic.
