SUSPENSION: Outer tie rod end movement. Is it normal?
Hello Every one,
I have the 90 Accord LX Sedan. I am investigating still the rhythmic sound that I have been having. So I took the wheels off today and check for play. The tie rod ends on both side have no movement back, forth, up, down. The movement is only twisting. There's no play in the 9 and 3 o'clock. I have the videos for both sides with the same movement, please tell me if they are normal? How often is it that both tie rod ends go bad at the same time? I have no problem with steering nor weird noise when steering.
Passenger's side
Driver's side
Thanks.

it's going to move in that way. if not, when you turned, when over bumps, how would it move to accomidate for your suspension travel? Answer = yes, it's suppose to move like that.
They should be tight enough to where they would only move due to driving force not hand force. You can test the inner tie rods by simply standing it up and if it falls down then they're due to be replaced.
It looks like it takes some force to move, that is fine. If they are sloppy then they would be in need of replacement due to wear.
