Default BMC Race Intake Manifold users

hi all, in the market for a new intake manifold. searched here and found a few threads about the BMC race designs and they look very nice. Instead of contacting the company directly, I want to get some inputs, reviews about them from unbiased users.

sooo I'd greatly appreciate if u guys can reply with your experiences here. (quality, customer service, gains, if it was a boosted or NA setup, if it was custom made or off the shelf design, etc) thanks!

Great company to deal with. A lot of engineering behind his designs. These manifolds are not your everyday off the shelf ones. I would consider each one custom made around your specs. We got one of the first ones made and James has worked hard on getting the design to where it is. Cost effective and customized to your power needs.

BTW... BMC makes exhaust manifolds as well. Everything top notch! You will not be disappointed.

Went 8's on my modular 8 injector version, going to sell it now and try something different to see if there is more to gain.. He has definately made improvements over the production of them.

nice! what kind of setup was u running? I went through the intake manifold discussion thread and seems the BMC is more of an IM for force induction , not as much for a NA setup.

he makes Race headers too?

I am running a boosted setup. Talk to James, he can help you choose something that fits your setup. A lot of the boost guys run the manifold, but he has applications for all motor cars. There is engineering and design behind what he makes. His exhaust manifolds are top notch. Quality! Quality! Quality!!!!

BTW... James, send me a price on that header... I have someone interested in it.

I was thinking the same thing... Are they still making the older style ones?. I definitely would not buy one of these.

You know its funny, everyone was afraid of my original design as well. Everyone said it wouldn't work and now its the design than many other places are copying

I can make the old design, its up to the customer if they would rather wait 12 weeks eta (and higher price tag) or 2 weeks eta (and a lower price tag). The older design had TONS of individualized parts that all took along time to machine, the new design utilizes a more standardized parts set that are interchangeable between motors.
I assure you performance will be the same, I stand behind my products 100% whether its a baby log manifold or a top notch BilletPro....

I was just wondering? Is there any reason in particular that the PFI PRO FWD drag car happens to use the same style plenum? Or at least it would appear that way in this thread. Maybe my eyes are deceiving me.

https://honda-tech.com/forums/drag-racing-36/pfi-speed-brents-l-pro-fwd-sema-insane-2425815/

And another?

There are many pro fwd racers utilizing this same style plenum. Yeah their volumes will very to accommodate their setups but it is still the same style...

Yea the reason is we didn't pay for it... I'm not bashing I just thought the other ones you made were trick and I didn't understand why the change... Sorry didn't mean to hurt your feelers

Well it goes like this:

12 week eta, people decide to go elsewhere (sometimes more, several of my BilletPro have taken 9months plus!!!)
2 week eta, people come my way

Which one is the better business decision?

Trust me I like building all sorts of trick things and I still do. Most people aren't willing to wait for it though, so now I have an option for those who want things right away

And bub, its pretty hard to hurt my feelings... I've had barrels of dirt tossed on me for so long your going to have to come back with a boulder to put me down, and it will only last till I get a prybar big enough to move it

.... And just because something looks "trick" doesn't mean it will work better/worse than something much simpler.

Plenum Design 101:
The purpose of the plenum is....
1. To equally distribute air to all cylinders (refers to plenum shape and airflow paths threw the plenum)
2. To provide enough air for the engine during peak VE (refers to plenum volume)

Therefore, the plenum shape honestly makes no difference so long as it can accommodate both rules above^^
I can build a plenum that looks like mickey mouse and it would perform as well as a f1 style plenum so long as it ad hears to the above rules.

Should get some official track results this weekend.

Watch for Justin Carson's car at the Vegas race.

Should also get some good results from the BilletPro out there as well
