Default Intake suggestions

I'm going to get a few things for the SI soon but don't have experience with this platform. What are the best intakes for the SI? Should I go Cold Air or Short Ram? I'm leaning toward the K&N Short Ram because I know the brand. This is my first import and Honda so you guys know better than me. For the record I did search before posting this thread.

I had the K&N on mine but just changed over to the injen CAI for my supercharger install. I liked the power I made with the K&N and it sounded great. Easy installation too. Im up in Cleveland I could hook you up with a deal on my old K&N if you decide to go with that. Mine has about 20k miles on it looks clean though.

I'll let you know what I find out on pricing. Have a few connections at the area shops here.

ETA- What exhaust are you running if you are running one. So far I'm leaning toward a Greddy SP-1 elite because from the youtube videos I watched lol, it sounds the best. I don't want the typical honda (you can hear me coming from 800 miles away) sound. I'm also not wanting to spend 1k to avoid the typical honda sound.

Let me know im selling my K&N for $160 bucks and I think its $230 new at most places.

As for exhaust I did the race header with no cat and exhaust at the same time so mine sounded a bit different then just an exhaust. I have the Apexi World sport II. Its very quiet but has a very nice tone in person, thats why I went with it. Its not as big as some of the other models but I made good power and I just didnt like the sound of most of the 3 inch exhausts. I think that greddy sp-1 is the same style as mine so it should be similar results.

import dps intensity intake is by far the best intake on the market for the Si.

I have an injen cai and as soon as I swapped to the import dps style intake for testing I gained 29hp on a s/c'd setup.

you're going to want something "cold air". Anything short ram for the 8th gens encounter way too much heat soak.

Skunk2 just came out with a composite intake for the 2006-2010 Si. Might be worth looking in to as well.
