All Metal body filler
So I have read some stuff and didn't see anything on here. But I shaved my eg bay, welded all holes, and am using All Metal filler to cover up the welds.
I finished a couple spots, sanded it down with 220 then 400 to smooth it off and sprayed some black primer over it just to see what it looked like. It is smooth, however I can see the spots I filled. Could this be because I am just using cheap primer? Or do I need to use something else over the All Metal to finish it off?
I do plan to use much better paint when it's all said and done.
Thanks for the input.!

You can use glaze to fill in imperfections. Use a quality, 2k urethane surfacer though. That'll surely fill the imperfections.
Any spots you see now will be worse when the gloss goes on.

Hate to say it but you need to use a sealer or a really good primer like epoxy primer. Cheap aerosol primer doesn't cut

I sanded it more after i added a thin layer of filler and also tried some icing and no matter what i do you can still see the area i filled in. I used so really good primer as well. Wth am i doing wrong? After i block sand it. It feels like the filler is lower than the metal...
is the all metal product brand new or was it something sitting around on a shelf for X amount of years?
are you mixing the product with the right amount of hardener?
are you using the hardner that came with the product?
did u kneading the hardner b4 mixing with the filler?
sand/remove it all, and try again... and cover it with at 2k primer/sealer...
and to my knowledge, you can put any type of primer over body filler (primer, epoxy primer, primer surfacer, primer sealer).. the only difference is, choosing the primer that is right for the job or what you can afford.
joeshmo: he has already established many times that he has sanded and feather edged.... that is not the issue... the issue is the filler is staining through the topcoat...

Brand new filler, mixing it plenty with the hardner than came with it at the right amount. I have some spots that are perfect. Can I get some epoxy primer in a can? And where/ what kind can I get?
I have been using all metal for a few months for body work. i dont know how you can sand it down i have used 220 and it takes for ever. the best way I have found is sand with 80 grit and finish sand with 180. this filler is so thick you will almost alway need a glaze and finish sand it with 320. Good luck all metal will kick your *** if you let it.
