Icon3 '99 GSR with 58k mi. Testing the waters..

Haven't been here or posted for about 2 years. I have been here since H-T's inception (pre-'99) and before when it was all "H-A.net".. and was one of the "regulars" giving advice for many years. Anyway I do not drive my GSR that much any more (maybe 2k mi./yr), mainly because of too much time spent working, family matters, and other reasons, and have been thinking of selling it for some time now.

Anyway, I hate to depart with my beloved GSR, but here it goes.

'99 GSR - red with 58k mi. 1st and only OWNER.
Stock motor - runs strong. Last dyno in '06 was 161whp & 117.5ft-lbs torque. 1st dyno when car was completely stock in '00 was 139.6whp and 109.4ft-lbs but it wasn't even broken in..
Stock/complete interior, A/C, leather seats, stereo, PW, power mirrors, moon roof, etc. everything works.
Mods:
- Quaife LSD
- ACT street clutch and 7.9lb Flywheel
- AEM CAI v2
- DC Sports 4-1 Type-R header (ceramic) w/2.5" collector
- 2.5" T1R Stainless Steel catback exhaust (best exhaust out there IMO)
- T1R 2.5" Resonated Stainless Steel straight pipe (for Type-R)
- Koni Yellows (Neuspeed/shorter) single-adjustable. Only 4-5k mi. on them.
- GC coilovers, 450F/500R ERS
- GC upper shock mounts (billet aluminum) all around
- Comptech 22mm rear sway bar & Tie bar combo
- Skunk2 (v2) adj. front upper/camber arms - the ones that don't slip.
- Ingalls rear upper adj. camber arms (very solid construction)
- Spoon front upper shock tower/tie bar
- Kosei K1 15x7" silver wheels 35mm offset (or GSR stock wheels)
- Brembo rotors all around, Hawk HP+ pads
- Goodridge SS braided brake lines
- New rear LCA's.

It was easier (and cheaper) to swap out the rear LCA's than removing the old Polyurethane bushings from them. Also all new OEM/rubber front LCA bushings. Rides nice (from when it had the Poly bushings). You couldn't tell you are riding on 450-500lb springs. The Neuspeed Konis are damping very well. The 7.9lb flywheel makes revving and shifting fast.

Fenders are also rolled in and can take 225-45's or 225-50's without any rubbing. Motor has been getting Mobil 1 since '00 (or since 5k mi. on the odo), and regular valve adjustments. Timing is advanced to 18deg.

I am sure I am forgetting a couple of minor things but that is the bulk of the mods. No cosmetic/exterior mods. The GSR looks completely stock except for the 1" lowering. The car runs great, and is modded with good/top of the line brand name parts which I installed after swapping out other aftermarket parts, and decided these were the best, and which the car handled best with, except when I had the Ground Control double-adjustable race shocks on it. The car handled like a go-kart with the GC shocks, but they didn't last long on the street, and had to remove them.

Now the car probably needs a paint job or a good buffing job. The luster and clear coat have faded away especially on the hood and trunk/spoiler. Also it throws a CEL because of the test/straight piple, so you 'd have to put a CAT on it (2.5" inlet/outlet) if you have emissions inspection where you live. I do not think you will have any trouble selling the beatiful SS resonated T1R pipe if you put a free-flow CAT on it. Very high quality piece the T1R, and from what I remember hard to get. I waited 6 months to get mine back in '05-06.

Kelly Blue Book says $7,300 in very 'good cond.' (private sale), or $7,100 in 'good' condition. The car is NOT in fair-condition because it has had no accidents, and has only a couple of minor dings which are considered normal wear. With all the mods on it which have cost me about $5.5-6K in parts alone (forget about labor..)

How does $7,900 sound?

E-mail me (only1harry@verizon.net) or post here, and let me know what you think, or if you are interested. I will try and have pics up soon, once it sinks in that I am really selling it. It is unbelievably hard for me to part with this car... you have no idea.. I have enjoyed every second I spent behind the wheel, and still look forward to taking it out for a drive in the twisties on a sunny day.

Thanks guys. Sorry no trades. Not sure what a "ruckus" is anyway

BTW, I am close to North Jersey (35min. from the border) and 40-45min. from both PA, and CT, right off Rt. 84 or Rt. 87 (Thruway) where they meet. It's funny (and convinient) how I am the same distance from all 3 states.
