Hold on now. In one place you say "lever", and in the other you say "pedal".

Are you talking about the 1) hand-lever, or the 2) foot-pedal?

While transmission is out, I would also look at #1 and #2, release bearing and release fork, maybe just replace the bearing, they are cheap enough.

It would also be a good time to do the clutch if it is getting close to needing one. 94

just replaced clutch/pressure plate/release bearing and resurfaced my flywheel. it didnt do this before i replaced it..if i spray wd40 on it though it loosens up and is actually easier to deal with while driving.. i really hope i dont have to pull out the tranny cause i did it twice already and its a b*tch

You're going to need to exactly that, unfortunately.

Either something's been assembled incorrectly, or there's insufficient/incorrect lube somewhere on the release linkage.

What exactly are you spraying the WD40 on?

Maybe it's just your cable that's bad. 94

Very likely! There are two places where it's critical that there be the correct type of lubricant. Not on the release bearing face where it touches the fingers, but elsewhere.

Unhook the cable and see if you can work the release lever by hand, and see how easy it is to do so.
