Default My '97 CX build

Haven't really done much performance-wise but mostly working on it cosmetically first so here's the background of my car.
Bought it late-January for $2400. It has roughly 260,xxx miles on the chassis and 7x,xxx miles on a swapped D16Y7 head. I have a Y8 bottom block so if I can find a good deal on a Y8 head, I'll do a swap. It has no name 15x6 painted black rims and Falken tires. There were a lot of dents on the car and I have yet to check for rust so all that's coming up soon.
Here's what the car looked like when I first bought it

Stock D16Y7 head on Y8 block:

After I got my hands on some cash:
Interior:

before:

after:

Wink mirror (controversial topic)

And what I think is going to be the most controversial and probably the thing that will give me the most haters; Stickerbombed fender

But anyways this is what I have on my Civic so far. I have a few more things on delivery right now and have to scout around junkyards for a few parts. Also please don't hate... I'm a noob to Honda's (came from the Nissan scene) and I really don't have money nor time (part time work, full time student) for big jobs like b series swaps and all that.. What I have planned for the next few weeks on this car:
- AEM Short Ram Intake
- D16Y8 swap (if I can find one) or B18 swap (if I can find a really good one for relatively low price)
- Skunk2 Short Shifter
- Skunk2 Coilovers
- Control arms (no idea what set.. depending on my budget after the first four)
- CTR 15" 5x114 rims
- Gutted and caged interior
- Tranny rebuild

I can't really do anything big on my car yet since I have school and work daily and I need a daily but wait until summer. I have big plans for this car and I should be posting up a lot more on this later on in the year.

Why do you have a y7 head on a y8 block? Get rid of that fender!

Otherwise it looks like a pretty clean car to start with

Fix your fender. makes the car look cheap and corny.

I don't really know... I bought it that way, no CEL and motor's running fine so I'm sticking with it until I can find a head to swap with

I'm planning on buying a new fender and bumper and the price is pretty low.. $39.99 for both but the shipping is unbelievable... $70 for each since it's a "oversized package" and me being a broke college student, I'll have to wait a bit for my next few paychecks to get the primered fenders and bumpers and paint them

Got my 6k HID Fog Lights... It's sprinkling outside so I'll install it in a few days since the weather apparently states that it's going to rain for the next few days. Damn So-Cal weather..

Nice Hatch! It has a lot of potential to be something great. You seem to know what you want to do with the car and I can't wait to see what you have in stored for it. Good Luck!

Happy Tuning!

@SimpleTire Thank you! I really do know what I want.. I have vision for this car but the only thing that's holding me back (probably applies to 100% of people building cars) is money

Just doing simple things.. New headlights came in and installed right out of the box while the weather let me. Bumper is off and inside my garage for fog light fitting
I love how awkward she looks with no grille or bumper lol

The sticker-bombing does look a bit cheap, but I like it; it's not haphazard, and until you get your new fender, it's probably better looking than the scratches or whatever is underneath it.

Also, I want to know more about this mirror; I've never seen anything like it. More pics would be awesome.

@childishthing
Yeah it was pretty obvious that the fender underneath all the stickers there was an advertisement for a surf company.. Yeah I had to cover it somehow. And the wink mirror is basically 5 rear view mirrors.

Hmmm as soon as I got the fog lights mounted, wired, and hooked up to the switch, after 10 seconds of it being turned on, the switch decided to short out and smoke. Time to go hunting for a new switch unless someone can show me a DIY to allow the fog lights to turn on when the headlights are turned on.

I bought it off of eBay... I emailed the guys and they told me to send the switch back to them and they'll send me a replacement for free as long as I pay for shipping... And if this switch fries out too, I'm going to flip a table or something.. lol

Thank you I've been calling around the local scrapyards around my place and the closest one I've found with a Y8 head that has low miles is about an hour away.. So I'm just going to wait it out a bit more and search a bit more thoroughly, but at the same time, I'm also looking for a b-series motor/tranny lol

i like the fogs man. I miss my old front end already.. I have the same year ej6 but i have the dx model. I recently 99-00 front end conversion (i think i'll make a thread on it). Anyways, i think a type R front lip would look lovely on your ride man.

Yeah I've been looking into that but while I was installing the fogs, I noticed a huge crack on the bottom part of my front bumper so I think I'll need to replace that before. Also the driver-side mount screw hole that goes underneath the fender completely tore off and the washer that I soldered on it as a quick patch decided to break off so now.. So Type-R lip has to wait a few more days

Amen to that... They provided me with a faulty switch, connectors that won't fit OEM switches, and a shattered bulb and they expect me to pay shipping back -_- I'm looking for a way to hook it up to my headlight switch or my parking light switch so it'll come on with that switch instead of the actual fog switch.. So far I haven't found one for the '96-'98 square fogs
