Replacing 01 H22A with a full Blue Top, Couple of Questions
So after a long diagnoses I found out that that the balance belt teeth shredded and got belt remains inthe the timing belt teeth and caused the timing to skip pretty badly so the valves are bent in my H22A. I found alocal motor warehouse that has h23A blue tops for 850.00, the whole motor everyhting, manifold, intake mani, compressor, etc... and a shop nearby that installs for 450.00. It is garanteed start up 30 days. The warehouse is out of h22a's so this is my only other option, aside form spending 3,000 to have everyhtign changed out and the head repaired. (Locally)
Will the blue top bolt right and work with my Auto tranny?
What timing belt works correctly with this motor?
Will my compressor from the h22a work with this motor?
Anyhting else i should know before having this done or is it a mistake?

- Yes
- Same as H22
- Yes
- Not really, little more TQ than an h22, about the same power. Definitely a lot cheaper than an h22a.

My 97sh is bluetop powered, I love the motor. It's got a great power band, just like an h22. I didn't own my car when it was h22 powered, but my friend who sold it to me said it definitely feels faster with the bluetop.
