Tell me what you think????
I was on my way to work this morn when I had stoped at the gas station to get gas and oil well I also desided to fill the radiator up and while the gas was pumping thats what i did well I got side tracked doing other stuff and forgot to put back on the radiator cap. Well I was on my way to work when I started to smell something so I looked down and noticed that my temp needle was all the way on hot. I pulled over and let it cool down. Worried that I might have blown the head gasket I checked the oil and made sure there wasnt any water in the oil. The car doesnt smoke a bit. Just to make sure there wasnt any water in it I desided to check it again the oil looked fine except for a few bubbles in the oil. So I continued to the gas station and filled it up with water and made sure once again and still no milky looking stuff in the oil but there was still a few bubbles. so I continued to work and the car started to over heat right next to work so I coasted into the parking lot and Checked the oil again. Stiill no milky look just the bubbles. Does this mean a Blown head gasket or is this normal????
does the needle go right up to the top/red now? how much water did you have to put into the radiator to re-fill it again? did it loose any water after you refilled it and drove a while? ddid you add coolant when refilling? if your radiator ran dry and your car is still over heating then it sure sounds like a blown h/g.
