I have the engine/5 speed manual tranny from my 2000 civic dx i totalled a few months back, Will i be able to put it into a 2000 prelude shell without much problem?

 

your talking about a D series, in a prelude?....... you can do anything with the right amount of knowledge and money... or you could just buy my prelude...

why would you downgrade?

 

It's possible but the shift linkage may not work with the placement of the motor/tranny. Since you have pretty much everything even the ECU you could do it im sure but mounting the motor MIGHT be an issue since the motor mounts for the lude are different than the civic. I'm not sure if the civic ones bolt up to the plrelude the same.

You would be better off buying a warehouse motor for that 2K shell imo. Im buying an H32A VTEC Blue top for 850 and the tranny if i wanted it is 600. But we dont know your money situation to say which is your best option. If you have the tool and the knowldge try it, the worst that can happen is you it doesnt work. BE THE FIRST! lol

I was just wondering if it was possible, I have the engine out of my wrecked civic but since i cant find a civic shell anywere around but found a prelude shell for cheep i just couldnt resist asking. Thanks for the input I think ill keep looking for a civic shell
