I'm new here , I have serious issues with my integra.

I replaced my B20 engine to H23 for better performance , anyway , I'm planing on installing turbo , but right now , I have this unknown issues , when accelerate , vtec works , the car sometimes would hold back or just goes heavey when accelerating . That when car temp reach it's normal temp 1/4 , if it colder , it accelerate fast , is that normal ?

When turning AC on and get vtec on action ,car would hold down at vtec for a while , like stays at 6000rpm for 5 seconds before it move over , after a while of getting vtec on action , the car would heat . It goes back to normal or won't heat if I didn't put vtec on action , even while car stop , it never heat. Also rpm keep going up and down 100~1000rpm when turning AC on.

I replaced radiator from half/small to full or big one with 2 fans , but still heating , at same rate as the small one.

For turbo , I need a guide on what will I need to change/replace ( that not included with turbo kit) on my car to get it to work probably. My brother had just installed turbo on H23 Prelude , but whenever he accelerate , his car would push back and forward , like chocking, we followed the equipment , but everything seems to be fine and normal , also it would heat up after short time ( 5 min or less ) , his car moves fine if he accelerate slowly and, won't heat , or heat a bit slowly .

Is this heat problem normal with H series engine ? The temp here is 25~45c at summer . If this an issue ?
I don't want to waste ~600$ on turbo kit and time to end like my brother prelude xD

Take it to a shop or someone who knows what they are doing. I don't even understand what you just said.

Sorry for the bad explaination , as some motors matters/definitions are vary from area to another.

 

H23 motors are non vtec unless you actually have the blue top motor, do you? I had a similar problemin my 93 prelude si which had a h23 non vtec motor. Everytime I would turn on myhead lights my teperature guage would shoot into the red but the car was not over heating. My problem was that the ground for temp sensor and headlights are the same and the bolt was loose. Quick easy fix but took a very long time to figure it out. That same prelude I later boosted it with a h23 bottom block with h22 head then later with a jdm h22 type s motor so I can help you with turbo questions.

 

Yes , my engine has the blue cover , it does over heat as the water flood over with a stutter , it's only over heat when AC and push car on vtec +5000/rpm for a few kilos, if I keep it below vtec range -5000/rpm or stop car , temp would drop back to normal.

I will record video tomorrow on how car act .
Can you please tell me what will I need to change or replace for installing a turbo ? My brother bought a turbo kit and installed it on his H23 vtec, but car won't accelerate and keep pushing back and forward. Like jump forward on about to accelerate, then hold back , it keep doing that , but it move ok if he accelrate slowly. I think something is missing , I will get a pic , maybe you can tell me what is wrong

As far as your water temp you need to make sure the condenser fan turns on when the ad turns on. you should have two radiator fans behind your radiator when the ac is on they should both be working. For your brothers car is his a prelude or integra? Does he have a tune or not? sounds to me like the motor is mis firing or is detonating.

 

Yes , both fans are working probably , when ac is on , it never heat while stopped or below vtec range . But I think it related to something els , I recorded videos on how car behave.

Here when turning ac on and off , you can see how the rpm goes up down , and back to 1000/rpm when ac off.

Please note : the red indicator of ( Hot engine ) on the left , tells me when vtec is active/work , the person who installed vtec , made this so can I know if/when vtec is working.
At winter I used to push car to 160~170/kmh at 3rd gear and can get it over 8000/rpm , no problem , but now it barely reach 140/kmh at 3rd , it become heavy and can't go over 7000/rpm.

I didn't get brother prelude pic for the turbo installation yet . But he said it has his old injectors from his F20 engine , he replaced his engine to H23 when installed turbo , can this be making the hold back issue ?
