having trouble underting flash codes
ok have had some running issues like high idle and throttling and in a effort to figure it out i think ive came down to it but not sure what it is. on back of intake this is something with vacuum hose and a wire. if hooked up the car idles high (around 1500) until warm then starts throttling from 500 to 2000 at idel. so i disconnected it and car runs good. idles right at 800 all the time. BUT extremely twitchy on take take off....also i got a CEL (imagine that) but little confused. it is 1 long flash followed by 4 short flashes. i think 1 is o2 sensor but i just replaced that and it went away for about a week before coming back. and i think 4 is crank sensor but not 100% sure. am i reading them right?
also what is the thing on back of intake and an help on how to determine if its bad?
oh by the way B18a

Ok to add to the plot. Hooked upe thing on back of intake and went for a drive. Found that it runs ok city driving but hopped on interstate and ran ok until I got off. Threw can in neautal and let it coast to stop light and motor dies. Starts right upand drive fine. Unroll I get back on interstate and exit again. Then started hone and it starts doing it when coming to stop at stop lights. Idk what to do.
Thats your IACV, or Intake Air Control Valve.
Code 14 is the IACV^
Code 4 is your Crank Position Sensor.
You need to clean your iacv, to do that, read this thread: http://www.team-integra.net/forum/bl...your-iacv.html
As for the CKP, thats in your distributor, you can either take it apart and get a known good one from another dizzy and swap em out or just get another distributor.

Ok cleaned iacv last night and went out for a drive. Good news is that fixed the ideological searching and got a nice idle right at 800rpm...but still have the problem of engine dieing when coming to a stop. It runs great until I take it out of gear and coast to stop at which point it just dies. Doesn't matter if clutch is in or not. I been taking to a guy at work and hes thinking maybe a fuel pump safety switch that is killing fuel pump when tripped when car rocks forward when coming to a stop. But does Idk if this car has one or not and where it located at?
Yah that's the last thing I'm tring to buy unless I swap to obd1. Don't see a point and buying a obd0 dizzy. Does anyone have a vacuumed schematic for a b18 besides the one in a chilton book. Its so small I'm having a hard time reading/figureing it out.

ok got home from work and went out and messed with vacuum lines and took for another drive...BUT still got a problem but got some more details.
test 1-driving down road running 45mph (on road by myself) and punch the brakes and car nose dives and BAM it dies. but only slowed to around 30mph.so coming to a stop has nothing to do with it...i think
-test 2- driving down road running 30mph and put car in neutral and let it coast to a stop without ever touching the brake pedal...woohooo car stays running just took a mile to stop.lol
-test 3- driving down road running 30mph and use e-brake to slow car to stop and it doesnt die.
test 4- driving down road running 10mph and come to normal stop and it dies.
any ideas?

ok made a trip home at lunch and did a few more tests.
test 5- blocked off brake booster...same result car dies upon sudden stop.
test 6- went back and disconnected tps sensor...same result dies upon sudden stop.

well i dont honestly know what hooks to those metal lines. i dont hear any vacuum leaks when car is running so idk. but was thinking the same thing. both ends are open so might be hooked up somewhere else.
starting to wonder is fuel pressure regualtor has got vacuum lines hooked wrong and thats causing a problem.
