itr cams with 60k miles worth buying?
i have a stock 94 gsr motor healthy but im looking for more power, current upgrades are basic aem short ram, skunk2 IM, no name 4-2-1 headers, itr catback exhaust. Im lookin for more power and have been thinking of picking up itr cams and someone is selling a set for 250 but they have 60k miles on them and were noted that the exhaust side has slight wear, but they dont look scorned. Would this be a relatively good buy at $250? then a decent tune of course.

Sounds like a normal price, and it appears you have the supporting mods for the cams. I personally would upgrade the valvetrain components to either type r or similar, this way you can take full advantage of the cams themselves, past the GSR's. I would assume you'll be changing the timing belt/water pump, cause that would be a great time to do it. Couldn't hurt, even if the one you have has lower-ish miles. Also, definitely do a tune, you'll gain more from that than the cams alone.
slight scuffing on the exhaust side, especially on the cylinder right next to the timing belt is common. i have no idea why but the past 2 itr engines i've had both had it. you can't really feel it with your finger, just see it
$250 is the going rate for ITR cams at the market place. There is NO WAY you'll find a set of ITR cams that are in good condition for less money. I sold a set for that much and they had way more miles. Of course there's no real way to verify the mileage.... I saw the FS post for the cams you're talking about. Even with 100k miles, that's a decent price. A good rule of thumb for determining if the wear is excessive is to run your fingernail across the the lobes. If your nail doesn't snag you should be good.
I wouldn't worry about the valve train yet. Not until you get an ECU that will allow you to rev past 8200 AND DYNO TUNE IT! Until then you should be fine with your GSR valve train. There are tons of GSR's running ITR cams.
Not sure if the ones in the FS post are but I'd try to get the '00-'01 cams. They have slightly better specs than previous years.

I would just save up for cams/valvetrain/tune. ITR cams are a nice bump in power (~8?) but after a month or two you will be wanting more...save up and do it once. Or just do it many times like I did...=P

Great price and fair, do it. I did. Do the dual valve springs too for peace of mind at the least. Condition is more important than mileage. Our set ups are nearly identical once we both finish our goals.
there are more dishonest people in the 92-00 honda scene than any other car group i know of.
i literally am happy to be selling my integra soon. i absolutely hate the people who are really into these cars. just dirtbags. most the normal folks are in forced induction or some type or road/drag racing
Were losing racebum? =O
op, on the topic of fakes, if you dont absolutely trust this guy then familiarize yourself with identifying itr cams. Do a search, its been brought up and linked multiple times that will show you precisely how to id that you are buying itr cams not someone tryin to pull a fast one on you. Actually do this anyway cuz he may be mistaken himself even if you trust him. Happens.
better yet, here look closely and compare

that cam on the left is the most common one posted for sale
as for me...yes, had the integra quite awhile but decided to go back to a C5. the 2001-2004 corvettes have started to get cheap enough to grab my interest again. my biggest debate is if i want the targa top of the coupe or the faster but hardtop z06. fun cars, simple to work on. only real neg is expensive tire sizes with 245 45 17 and 275 40 18 on the coupe and 275 40 17 and 295 35 18 on the Z. the c7 is due to release in the winter of 2013 which is going to further pressure the prices on the 5th gen. i'll get 7 out of my teg, either as a whole or parted, add 8 to it and 15k can get me a pretty decent lower mile car
