94-01 Integra door bar setups wih factory door panel
Doin the 8.50 cage in my integra and wanted to see how you guys are setting up your door bars while retaining factory door panels. Kinda got mine bent around the door panel and up but curious to see how other are set up.
I just got done going through this with my 4dr teg. I kept all the factory interior as well. We didnt get around the door panel at all, it sits right on the swing out bar. Heres a quick pic. I will snap a couple more for ya tomorrow if you want
My problem is i sit very close to the steering wheels so for it to conform to NHRA rules about being shoulder height and passing mid way through my arm makes it a hard to set up. Those look very low to be NHRA legal. My door bar has to attach where the a pillar bar meets the floor.
My $150 sticker says they are legal...

When I went to get it certified I didn't even have to sit in the car and its from my understanding atleast at my local track that all they care about during track day inspection is if you have the sticker or not.

That should pass. Just need to watch the bend radius.
Here is mine by NRG Tech

Sorry I don't have a better picture. The bend is very slight and just barely clears the door panel. It's super tight to the interior, which is exactly what I wanted.

Everything im reading says you can only have 1 bend at a maximum of 30*. Its so back and forth...im seing things like mine that pass and hearing from people that have tried like mine and didnt pass. Guess im gonna roll with it and hope for the best.
Talk to the cage certifier before you start building and bring up your questions to him. That way you know what he will allow and what he wont
I called the NHRA tech line and talked to Pat there and accurately described my situation and he said there is no issues at all with there being bends in the door bars. He said there an be any type to any degree of bends as long as it works within the rules outlined in the 2012 rulebook.
