my name is Joshua. I just bought i 92 honda prelude si, i did a engine swap, h23a1 to a h23a4. (W/O ECU change) new waterpump, new thermostat, new radiator, new fan switch at thermo housing, new temp sender(head phone shaped plug on head). I still have no radiator fans........

my temp guage idling climbs slowly, to red, and falls, back up, down, up, down, up. if i give it RPMs it falls and climbs, if i turn the blower motor on it climbs. (to take heat off of engine)

if i jump the wires at the thermo housing the both fans come right on,

i was reading another forum, found out about a fan control module, i found all the wires to the fan control module under the carpet, next to the ECU, chewed with acorns and nuts. i taped all the wires back up, what are the chances that those crossing wires "shorted out" the fan control module? and where do i find one??

no change after fixing the wires.......

ive been stumped with this for days, everyone says, take out the thermostat, or wire the fans to a switch, i kinda dont wanna do ither of those.

i also took the a/c out of my car.(condenser, refrigerant, and unhooked the line to the a/c pump and cut the plug off flush with the pump. if that has anything to do with it........call me sally!

i am very concerned for my prelude, its my first.

 

You probably need to properly sodder those wires together and make sure you match up the colors/stripes of the wires exactly right. If you need a new module I would try a junkyard or eBay.

 

thanks, i order one last night to give it a shot. my fans are now kicking on (in intervals of seconds) after i shut the car off, and shut off when i turn the key to on. ???

when using a infrared temp gauge, im getting temps from 160 to 180 at the thremo housing and coolant coming out of the bleeder is only like 150.

does the fan control module interact with the temp gauge in the car?? thats my main question.
