So I am a first time buyer of a bone stock 4 speed Ef hatch and have owned the car for about six months and havnt had a problem until now. With the warmer weather coming the seems to have problems, when I drive it for about 30 mins or so and I shut it off and go to try to start it, it won't start for about ten mins? Also here recently it has been dying on me on my way home from work but when I pull over and turn it off it fires right up and makes it home? Now the ecu light is throwing a 15,16 and 1 code but the check engine light doesn't come on? (yes it has a good bulb in it). Anyone have any ideas as to why it would keep dying?
when it won't start ....does it have fuel and spark?....fuel and no spark ?.....spark and no fuel?....or no fuel no spark?........... sounds like main relay but symptoms help with the fix codes can send you on a wild goose chase sometimes

Died on me again today on the way home. Still throwing all codes I will be picking up a new main relay tomorrow. Also I did notice that the relay was getting a little warm? I understand most electric things will get warm but is this normal for a relay to get warm? Also thanks for all the input guys.

Bought a new one it was like 53 bucks also replaced the coil, and igniter today and now it won't even start lol i have a buddy coming over now to help me check the fuel pressure
take a peek at the plugs. I had a similar problem went through the all the distributor, coil, ingniter. ended up having oil on the top of the plugs outside the valve cover which was shorting the plugs. acted the same way. I believe it was from putting too much oil in the engine. oil blew up over the valve cover gasket and did this. after I stuck a paper towel in there and clean all the excess oil it corrected the problem. maybe. maybe not.
so.....never got an answer to this question.... and now youve replaced pretty much the whole ignition system
as the other people said, check the main relay. if that has cracked solder joints then when it's cold it's fine, then when it gets hot the pins lose contact and doesn't start.
this is all assuming the new ignition stuff is correct.
this happend to my crx last fall, ended up being the fuel pump. resoldered my current main relay (just cuz it's 20 years old and i had it out/apart) and haven't had a problem since. not once.
if it comes down to it, take out the fuel pump and put 12volts to it and see if it comes on.

It turned out to be the cps in the dizzy lol go figure thanks for all the help guys, I am now getting back to 40 MPH's over the 10 I was getting in my truck lol
I know that things like ignition coils and solenoids and relays with fine wire windings in them do have that symptom of not working when hot or cold due to expansion/contraction of the metal(windings) causing a break in the wire that closes back when it cools off again. I had that symptom with my ignition coil, good when cold, no spark when hot, or misfiring badly when hot.
Thanks
