adding a/c to b16 in crx, compressor hits frame
I'm in the middle of adding a/c back into my crx. The car has a b16a2 lower end and a ls head. the problem i have is the a/c compressor sits on the frame. I have to remove the front mount and bolt the compressor on, when i let it down it's 4mm from getting the bolt in the mount. Has anyone ever run into this.
I have a b series bracket and compressor, the car has innovative mounts and an ls engine front engine mount

You need a traction bar for clearance. Or you can raise the engine somehow. Or you can get the innovative bracket and a D-series sanden compressor.
I used to have a 1988 Si that I put a B16 in and kept the factory CRX A/C. I believe my OEM CRX AC compressor was the Mitsuba brand (sp?). I used the Hasport mounts and the Hasport AC bracket (I think the bracket was $180). Worked brilliantly.

hmm well i think i'm going to find a way to raise the engine or mod the factory crossmember, i really don't want to put a traction bar on the car. and i a smaller compressor wouldn't help because it is hitting on the bottom of teh compressor where it bolts up. Thanks guys!
