Default adding a/c to b16 in crx, compressor hits frame

I'm in the middle of adding a/c back into my crx. The car has a b16a2 lower end and a ls head. the problem i have is the a/c compressor sits on the frame. I have to remove the front mount and bolt the compressor on, when i let it down it's 4mm from getting the bolt in the mount. Has anyone ever run into this.

I have a b series bracket and compressor, the car has innovative mounts and an ls engine front engine mount

You need a traction bar for clearance. Or you can raise the engine somehow. Or you can get the innovative bracket and a D-series sanden compressor.

You must be using the mistsuba compressor. Switch to the Sandra model, it's much smaller and will clear no problem.

B-series are different, I know the GSR (P72) uses a Denso compressor.

I used to have a 1988 Si that I put a B16 in and kept the factory CRX A/C. I believe my OEM CRX AC compressor was the Mitsuba brand (sp?). I used the Hasport mounts and the Hasport AC bracket (I think the bracket was $180). Worked brilliantly.

The hasport bracket allows you to use both the mitsuba and Sandra ac compressors. Both are stock on 88-91 civic/crx

hmm well i think i'm going to find a way to raise the engine or mod the factory crossmember, i really don't want to put a traction bar on the car. and i a smaller compressor wouldn't help because it is hitting on the bottom of teh compressor where it bolts up. Thanks guys!

The compressor types are MATSUSHITA and SANDEN. The Matsushita compressor has the larger pulley on it.
