hey guys i have a 90 1.5l civic hb...and i bought a cali emissions ecu instead of federal will it work on my car? if so do i have to program it or program a new one or just buy one from autozone for 280$ instead of 60$ on ebay? im not even sure if im posting this in the right place but this is the closest i can find to my car...would love advice or help...

What do you mean Cali emissions ecu? Theres no difference. Do some searching you should be able to find that ecu in the market place for around $30

there apparently is a diff from california emission to federal emissions the ecu's are a tad different...but if i can get it to work that would be awesome...but does it have to be programmed by dealer or mechanic to my VIN or can i buy one off a working car same model?

the numbers also dont match...mine is a pm9-a01 and the other is a pm5-l09...

my car isnt running and i bought another ecu off ebay and it is for a cali emissions...i dont know what to do or where to go now...ive change almost every thing under my hood that could make it not start...there is a burnt spot on the motherboard of my old ecu...

so if i buy one and the nums match and can i just solder the wires and plug it in and it should work? do i need to get it programmed?

you dont have to solder or mess with any wires or do anything except plug it in. have you tried this ecu yet?

I tried the pm5-l09 it didn't work but I have wires soldered to it...and can I use one off a running car as long as the numbers match?
