my 91 crx HF when i got it.

after a few months i decided to do a zc swap, then changed my mind to do a b16a swap. i pulled the motor with my bestfriend and his dad.

i took the rest of the engine bay apart and masked it up. here is its sealed.

here it is based and cleared.

i got my JDM B16a today, i'm so stoked. i bought it from hmotorsonline. it's a great place. i think their prices are good for the quality of their motors.

this is the teggy brakes and knuckles i got. taking them apart to get them powder coated gold.

this is a caliper to show you the detail. it took me some time. i used my angle grinder and my DA. 80 grit sand paper.

here's the motor ready to go in.

there she is, nicely in the bay. now it's time to button it up and put fluids in it.

there's the invidia ef8 cat back i bought from passwordjdm. it took forever to get here. longer then they said.

here's the calipers and the brackets. satin gold and satin black. aren't they pretty?!

ok, i finally have a few pictures on what i've done.
here's the teg brakes installed.

i didn't like that the shift linkages were just zinc coated so i just hit them with some paint i had laying around.

aem cold air intake is now installed, along with the rsr header. next is the radiator and to reinstall the bumper.

amber side corners are on, and another look at the radiator.

radiator is in, and bumper is on.

this is when i got it hung on the lift. going to the exhaust shop to have a test pipe made and installed.

here's how it sits while it's off the lift.

update guys. i got one more thing knocked off my list. (I NEVER WANT TO DO THIS AGAIN)
tail lights before:

tail lights reflection:

after polishing:

here they are installed. the white you see is glaze, this will be cleaned when i give her a bath.

boss told me Wednesday that he didn't have anything for me to do( what a liar) so, i painted a few things with ppg paint. radiator stays and the wipers are now gold.

radiator stays untaped.

radiator stays installed. they were a (crude) to get the on.

modified the hood and shimmed it an 16th inch. and it shuts.

oh yeah, i got the stupid sticker off the wind shield.

welp, i got my paint. i bought this off summit racing. VHT gold metallic caliper paint. it's rated at 900 degrees, but your brake fluid boils at 435 i believe. i have vht on my dd. it's holding great. need another coat to bring it back to life though.

about time for an update :bounce:
steve at hmo is awesome. i got this two days earlier than it would normally. my rear brake conversion.

here's how nice they are. almost like new.

ok, so i had some down time at work. i decided to take apart my brakes so i can clean them, sand them and paint them. here's a picture of them apart.

here's where i ran out of air at the end of the work day. i have one caliper ground down and sanded to 80 grit. the other needs a little more ground down and sanded to 80. both brackets are ground and are waiting for 80 grit.

i finally got my blox racing test pipe. i bought it off ebay for $90 shipped.

here's the label.

alright, another update guys and gals. i took more photos as i went. you guys love your photos :D
here's the calipers and brackets in the media blaster after i blasted them.

here is a caliper taped up.

here's the rest taped up and hung waiting to be painted.

here they are after two dry coats and one wet. they're baking.

i also did a quick job of cleaning the 4040 prop valve and getting it painted.

here's the picture when i started the swap.

stubborn brake lines were seized up in the brake hose. smh, cause they were in good shape. but a pair of dikes take care of them.

i assembled the calipers and brackets.

i put them back on the trailing arm.

i was surprised that the only thing that gave me a problem on the left side was the brake line. everything came right out, but the right side was a b*tch. i broke the bolt the goes in the lca that hold the trailing arm to the lca. hmo sent 4 bolts and i was able to substitute on that is for the camber arm(the thing that looks like a T, that connects the top of the trailing arm to the unibody by the rear strut.

then i got the disc swap ready to go in.

then i finally got them on.

finally, i got somewhere. i had to take a pair of vise grips to one line, but they all came out. i swapped the 1725 for the 4040. here's two pictures.
the 4040 after paint and cleaning it. excuse the dirty rex. she's waiting for a bath. she's a dirty girl.

the 4040 installed.

well, i got tired of seeing the center piece being red. i decided to start sanding it down. here's where i left it. i'll continue and have it finished sometime this week.

anywho, i have a teaser for your guys. i didn't make it perfect just shiny. it's only temporary so you guys understand.

here is the center piece installed.

autozone gave me the wrong master cylinder. had to make 4 trips before everything was said and done.

here is the old hf 13/16" master cylinder and booster.

thought i'd share the bench bleeding part.

here it is once it was all hooked up.

finally, the day has came to actually get this thing on the road. here is a picture of how she looks now, with a plate and the wipers on. i'm thinking of getting a picture of it in the sun.

for you guys that are not able to help here is the picture of the wipers in the sun light.

so, finally i got my edm spoiler. took long enough..

here it is unwrapped.

Great build! I'm not a huge fan of the gold wipers, but the gold calipers look really good. And I can't tell you how glad I was when you pulled that Honda sticker off the windshield. Those things crack me up. "Yeah, we know it's a Honda."
yet another ohio ef getting stupid attention to detail..... you guys underestimate us midwestern f*ckers but you have to realize we deal with a bunch of old hot rodders every summer at goodguys nationals and several other shows that either inspire us or **** us off enough to have to take that extra step to do things like finish sand a caliper or paint match your entire suspension ....most of the time we have the sh*ttiest weather the most rust and the least amount of care for a honda ....but there are the few of us out here that actually love these things and are more than willing to do whatever it takes to shut every one of the haters up ...... O H
hood is only temporary and the only reason i have the risers and the 16th spacer is cause the hood wouldn't shut with out them. it's weird, but at least i have oil pan clearance, despite the ugly gap. i could fix the damage on the hood, but i plan on getting an sir front end. i think they look boss. ohh an the invidia, it's not annoying sounding like most of the fart cans. i'm kinda liking the tone. i wanted an hks sport, but not for all the money. besides invidia thought this one out on the bends for less back pressure and more gas velocity without losing power. i've also thought of the buddy club spec II, but the state troopers would probably pull me over and see i'm using a test pipe.

i usually paint the wiper arms satin black, but i thought i would try something different. i was glad too, everytime i looked at the car the stupid sticker would **** me off.

What's wrong with the muffler? Why is it at that angle? I've seen STi's with the slant muffler but that was because it flowed better. Does your crx need that?
lol, nothing is wrong with it. it's called "jdm tilt" instead of making a 90 degree turn which would restrict the gas velocity, invidia made it come out at an angle. it is better for performance. i think it doesn't hurt to have it. it pulls ok for only being a stock b16a internally with i/h/e and having a test pipe. it's not loud either.

tell that to mugen, and hks. even apexi even makes a WS2 that looks like stock.
i looked into mugen, but to get the cat back it costs about $1000 if it's missing a piece or needs fixed. i've seen a nice one for $1600 on ebay. i'd rather invest the $1,200 into the vavle train. not saying i wouldn't want one, but the economy is not stable, and i did look at the hks sport, but at the close to $1000 price tag i lost interest, cause of money. i listened to a few youtube videos of 10 or so different exhaust. the invida being one of them. i didn't know apexi had cat backs. if i am right the just give you the universal muffler. i didn't want a fart can to begin with but the invidia grew on me. if had an ek or dc it would have an ws2.
i didn't know the WS2 was a stock looking replacement till i saw it. only thing is that it you would probably need to modify it since it's for a hatch (b pipe might be longer) but the rest should fit.

looks really good. i bet it would have an aggressive sound with out any raspiness. though the modifying it to fit is the think i don't like. stainless is a hard metal and i can only weld with mild steel. i would imagine that if i ever get around to buying a ef sedan i might look into this.

that was for a 91 hatch. if you think about it, technically it would fit on your rex. just delete your cat and put a test pipe in. that is if you're afraid of cutting the nice exhaust piping.
