DH bike on/in a 4th gen.
Can anybody recommend a bike rack that fits onto a 4th gen? Or some suitably strong roof bars that will support a DH bike? Weighs nearly 40lbs.
Getting fed up with almost completely dismantling the bike and struggling to get it into the back seats.
My other option is to permanently remove the rear seats. With the bike's wheel's removed it's a good fit across the car. Rear seat belt's also make handy restraints.
The problem then is the fact it makes the interior look a tad messy and there's a lot of road noise! Can anybody point me towards any products or ideas to tidy/quieten up the lack of rear seats? Cheers

I used a standard yakima rack with fork mounts on my 4th gen, with approx 45 lbs of bikes as well as the ski attachments on there with no problem. Just get a standing mount instead of the fork mount.
Drag will be a bit higher with the bike so high, so don't drive like an idiot. That said, my car didn't flinch at holding 110+ through Utah with my bike on the top.
