Who is Using a Rear Upper Strut Bar?
I've looked at all the possibilities of rear upper strut bars. I've seen spoon, mugen, carbing, dc sports, OEM JDM ITR etc.
Now I was looking at a generic rear bar today at a shop. The bar is hard as can be and I tried to flex it, but to no avail it would bend at all.
Now do you guys think spending $200 on a spoon or whatever vs $50 is gonna make a difference?
The mounting points on the generic are adjustable( make it longer/shorter) to fit the car.
Decisions, decicions, what do you guys think and what are you guys using?

I'm using a cheap one like that. I don't think the rear bar makes much of a difference, but my front bar of a similar design does make a noticable difference. I wouldn't spend $200 for a simple piece of metal, especially for the rear bar. I spent like $30-40 on eBay for the front and the rear strut bars, and I am quite happy with my purchase. This is one of those cases where the cheap generic stuff works as well as the expensive stuff. In fact, the DC Sports strut bars have holes in them for looks and the strength of the bar is compromised as a result. But, I wonder if that really makes it less effective. The stock GS-R and Type-R front strut bars are pretty flimsy. Maybe it doesn't have to be super strong for it to work.
if i'm a daily driver, and just want better handling cornering n turning, should i just get a front bar, do i need the rear bar (what does the rear do?)
do you guys actually feel a difference with the rear upper strut bar?
Weston, this is NOT one of those instances where the generic or DC stuff works just as good! Please don't say that!
I have a Neuspeed rear upper strut tie bar. It is solid. It is good.

Stock ITR front strut bar is not flimsy... I have a neuspeed one in the rear (and front) if you want something good, look into the Carbing type 2 i think for the front. Yes it does make a difference because of how they mount. Mugen and Carbing are really similar in design, and the design is really good too. The downside to mugen's is they are heavy but the Carbing's are really lightweight aluminum.... just something to think about...
I got the Benen rear strut bar. Most of the time the term "you get what you paid for" applies..... But strut bars do not make such big of a difference IMO. Sway bars is where the money's at.
For daily drivers, you probably won't notice a difference...may be a little bit.

my no namer rear strut bar cuts it for me..found it here on h-t for $30 shipped brand new...does the job, i'm not a full time racer thats on the track, so no need for anything top notch....
I think that having something is always better than not having something. Went with Mugen cuz I got the front one too. Very expensive, very stiff. I like it that way, works for daily driving.
my no name rear bar is the ****. really stiffened up my GSR in hard cornering. AND it holds in the custom sub box i built to go underneath it! sweet.
