every time i start my car when the egnine is cold i hear a 2 second groan or mmzzz sound coming from direct center of car just behind the dash(but in the egnine bay) and a little down like under the throttle body or something, almost sounds like a fish pump running dry for a few seconds, and when it happens the rpms drop about 200 ths or so, and the lights dim and so on. this is my frist honda, and ive only had it for about 6 months, i first heard the sound the morning after i bought the car from the dealership . so this has been happening for who knows how long, but car seems to run fine, and i spank my friends 2000 civic si, and he has headers, exhaust, a CAI, and cams, so the problem isnt robbing power from me, just seems to suck power when the sound is actually happening, and i can also feel the vibration when it does it also, mainly through foot peddles. who knows what the f**k is up with my car?
oh yeah, its a b16 A3.

Maybe the Alternator is going bad ? also may want to check your belts??
just a guess...

 

hmm... belts... not a belt.. had belts checked already. what about abs pump? have any of you had a abs pump go bad? what other pumps are near the firewall that would make some sort of noise if they got air, or are lacking fluid in them?

 

hmm... so noone else has any idea huh? well.. crap.....
