Bi Directional Tests & SCS Line blues.
Aloha,
I'm trying to actuate bi directional tests with an AE Scantool on a 99 Accord Coupe (F23A1 & auto, PT1002 ECU). The scanner has OEM enhancements, & reads the sensors...but I can't enable systems tests because the SCS line is open. The only reference to an SCS line I have been able to find refers to using a service connector in the MES to reset the SRS light. I tried jumping the MES & retrying the tests with the same result...error, SCS line open.
What am I missing ?. I think that pin 9 in the DLC is for an SCS line, but I cant jumper the DLC & plug in my scanner. Iv'e never had any problems before. I'm waiting on a FSM, but can't find anything about SCS lines on alldata or online apart from instructions on how to jumper the MES or use an OEM scanner that gives you an option to open or close this line.
Thanks in advance for any advice

Call AE for help Your 99 may not have all the tests that scanner has listed what test are you trying to run? You may need a break out box or a dlc cable with a extra lead I thnk OBD cables .com has them But call AE first befor you gnd any thing Pls repost any info I will try to keep up with this as I am thinking of getting AE myself
Hey Joe...thanks for your response.
Jason (the engineer at AE) has been very helpfull, as has "Beevo" at the Thompson Autolabs forum.
So far...the SCS line can only be ground manually by jumping pins 4 & 9 in the DLC...kind of defeats the purpose, as this prevents you from plugging in your scanner. The HDS scanner & the Snap On scanner are the only ones I have discovered that will ground the SCS line with the DLC interface.
AE are working on a fix, but in the meantime I will check out the link you provided. Also, I will be scanning a Honda Odyssey today & will see if I get bi directional capability.
I have had the AE Proline bundle for a couple of weeks now, & this is the only performance issue I have experienced, & I work on all makes & models. Having the OEM enhancements is worth the initial expense, but at $150 a year subscription renewal...WAY cheaper than the competition. Also I have found the after sales service & tech help to be 1st class. I plan on buying a J2534 pass through next, & these work seamlessly with the software.
