Need help with racing seats!
Hey everybody, I have a burning question that I can't seem to find the answer to.
I have a 1990 Civic Si hatchback, almost completely stock. Recently, I purchased a pair of 3A Racing seats (model #:25-2925, also called the "Prestige" seats), and after removing the stock passenger-side seat, I realized that I can't mate the original seat brackets/sliders to the aftermarket seats.
So my question is: Is there a way to fabricate brackets for the seats or modify the stock brackets to fit? I'm not terribly great at welding/fabrication, but I think I would be able to do something with it. Alternatively, where can I find a pair of brackets to match the 3A seats and fit into the car (or should I look for someone to fabricate custom ones for me)? I've looked almost everywhere and I can't find a pair of brackets made for both the seats and my car. If anyone's done this or has any insight, please please let me know.
Thanks,
EF303

You might be able to re-drill your stock rails to fit the seats, but it depends on the mounting holes. I know the crx rails are not flat, so you might need spacers too which would raise the seat. I would recommend some universal sliders or have someone fabricate them like you said.
Thanks zr. As it happens, I decided to fab the brackets myself, out of some 1/4'' flatstock steel and a bajillion nuts&bolts. But you are correct: the outer rail of the seat sliders has a couple big flanges on it that you have to drill off (as they're held onto the rail via a few welds and rivets), and you do have to account for the slight variation in height.
I've completed the passenger side and it's ugly as sin but it'll hold. When I get around to doing the driver side I'll take pictures and make a complete walkthrough for anyone else having the same problem.
