Hey guys i was on my way back from highschool on the freeway my car just stopped, The cluster just shutoff, radio and ac still worked, but no acceleration was happening, I turned on the car it wouldnt turn over but after 2 minutes it did. Im so confused I changed my dizzy last month and spark plugs help! its a daily! Its slammed too if that makes any difference

 

Check your Fuel Pump. "Slammation"　has nothing to do with this at all. Does the brake work when the car shut down??

 

Brakes work, I didnt think so, but twice out of the 5 times it stopped on me today it hit a hard bump - just stating some more info.
Replaced fuel pump last month

 

so this problem was occurring prior to replacing those parts?
and have you checked the codes?

 

it happened after i did a month after , and i heard it might be main relay - but car shouldnt even start, maybe fuel pump or the ignition coil?

 

where did you get the distributor? new? used? what company?

 

Sounds like something in the dizzy. Possibly coil over-heating.

 

when the problem is occurring and you crank, does the tach move at all? or is it dead still?

 

I'm with this one, maybe you went to a junkyard and grabbed a dizzy and it has the same problems. I had this exact same issue and it ended up being the dizzy after replacing it twice.

 

i was more leaning towards a cheap brand new one. they can be so problematic on these cars
