My ABS light comes on now and then. I checked the fluid level for brakes and ABS along with the fuses and everything is ok there.

The brakes will lock if I hit em hard enough, but otherwise the pedal feels normal. When the light was first coming on sometimes I had the ABS pedal feel when I was almost to a stop on the breaks while light braking.

Is there anything I can do besides bring it to the dealer? would anyone know what the problem could be? I'd like to fix it before the snow hits (I got a month or two...)

You can check the codes yourself and go from there. Just jump the service check connector.
