teins or jic
JIC are better then teins... and more expensive... in the 1600-2000 range... plus i don't know if they'd be to good for street use...

the JIC's are so much better than the Tein SS or HA's. First of all its somewhat made of aluminum, no rust like the SS or HA, same spring rates of the SS, but more aggressive valving than either. 15 way adjustable dampening on rebound, but most important (besides camber plates and pillowball mounts) is adjustable damper length, aka... there's a perch for the lower control arm attachment of the damper which means you don't have to mess around with your preload spring rate in order to lower your car. Therefore you can make use of having a good amount of suspension travel without worrying about ur strut bottoming out (hitting the top of the strut). Or if you want it in simplier terms, there's a perch for the spring level and another perch for the damper (beneath the spring perch)... you can lower the car without moving the spring up and down..therefore leaving the spring rates at ur desired preload rate (unsprung)... sorry I probably confused a lot of people...but if you read it a bunch of times, u'll get it...
...JIC's are more "harsh" than the teins as they're more aggressive, but if you plan on autocrossing or doing track events, they're worth every penny... I just wish I had money for them..

teins, teins, teins!!! granted that the jic are great but teins have sooo many more variety in setup - from comfort, flex, to sport, ha, to race, ra, re and full race, n1's...just my two cents...i have ha and i think it's perfect for street...

For the same price, the TEIN RE can be had. Which boasts the same features as the JIC.

Consider this, who would you trust for your suspension needs?
JIC, who makes exhausts, seats, strut bars, etc.
or
TEIN, who makes springs, shocks, and coilovers exclusively and nothing else.
???

JIC > Tein - plus you can get them serviced here in the US too. Get them custom valved or special spring rates too.
So, Spoon, Mugen and a handful of other JDM companies make that other stuff than shocks/springs, do you think that really matters?
If these two highly esteemed "JDM companies" rely on a corporation that specializes on shock absorbers to develop their aftermarket line of Coilovers; Spoon, Mugen N-1, N-Zero, Lowdown, etc. Why not think along the same lines and trust TEIN more so than JIC? If for no other reason than simply because they can (at the very least) devote more research and development towards ONE single line of product.

Besides, how long have JIC been around? Not as long as TEIN I can tell you that much.
