Beeping when key is removed
I have an annoying problem that I can't figure out. I have a 91' Accord EX Wagon, auto trans., that when the car is off and key removed and you open the door the "Key left in Ignition" beeper beeps. It's been doing this sporadically for a year or so. Normally I can re-insert the key, turn it to the on position, let it do it's 6 beeps and then remove the key and it stops. Make take tow or three times but it eventually stops. Not any more.
I'm wondering if the actual ignition cylinder is just worn out or if it has more to do with the sensor/ button (or what ever it is) in the door jam itself? In the door jam I can only find one tiny little black thing that looks like it might be the "trigger". I've tried using a small screwdriver to depress it but it doesn't really move. Is the "trigger" somewhere else on the door? It's not a huge deal, just annoying. The car still starts fine with the key etc., so if it's in the tumbler I'll jst leave it alone because removing all that is a major hassle on my car. Any suggestions? Thanks

Ok, well after a lot of reading on this topic it appears that the tumblers have probably worn out on the ignition cylinder itself so I'll just replace that as I don't want to disable my dome light etc.
