I've got a 1998 Accord Coupe 2L.

I have a clutch problem, The clutch peddle depresses but does not return.

I have to hook my foot under the peddle to bring the peddle back up to change gear.

there is fluid in the clutch resevoir and when I had a look at the peddle itself have noticed a loose circlip and unidentified washer type thing on the piston that the peddle pushes into the clutch master cylinder.

Should there be a return spring mechanism on this piston??

What is wrong and what would be the best plan for repair.

It seems that the master cylinder has been damaged, which is why there is no compression in the pedal.

Had the same problem when bleeding an RSX-S. It was the master cylinder that the clutch depresses. Replaced it and probably was fixed.

Bad part was, it cost like $120.

I now have this Accord Coupe (1998) for sale - Spares or repairs as I'm not going to repair it As I have picked up a 2002 Accord saloon for a bargain price.
