Is my 2.2l-2.3l idea insane?
Okay seeing if anyone has built an f23 bottom end with an f22c1 top end or if that idea is just out right insane. Would this work at all with the age variance, seeing as the c1 comes out of a 06 and up s2000 and the f22 we all know and love comes from the 90s will they mate if anyone has tried this please comment. any kind of numbers its putting out would be nice too. thanx in advance for anyone who views this thread!
The F22C is kind of the exception to the rule that within an engine series parts interchange. there is little similarity between the F22C and the F23. the head will not bolt up.
the F22A on the other hand is a compatible feasible head to swap onto the F23 bottom end.

Not something that would work, or should I say it would not without being huge expenditure in terms of money, engineering, and time... since anything is possible almost with enough $ and time. If you wanted to do a more unique head swap... it would easily be more cost effective and realistic to do something like an H series head to make a G23 hybrid out of it instead.
F22c engine rotation is the opposite as traditional F/H series Honda motors, also uses a timing chain system instead of a belt, the head would not line up for oiling passages, headgasket would have to be made custom for it, etc.

I found out the rotation was backwards earlier today, I wonder why honda decided to change the rotation of engine, but from what ive heard this is the superiore engine now in hondas lineup. why!!!??? honda....THAT WOULD BE an amazing motor if you think about all the performance possibilites of that head with an iron block...ooohhh it gives me chills. i wish it would work. ill probably end up building an g23 build, but im still looking for other options...comments, opinions????
Iron block? what iron block and what's that got to do with performance?
good ideas...oh and i like having an iron block, they are better in my opinion cause you dont have to sleeve it when you get to the higher hp, also you can bore it out to w/e. i dont like the idea of having to resleeve motors. I have an f22b1 right now, and love the h/f series they're alot of fun, i think even though i want to do something you don't see everyday, i may just break down and slap an h22 head on my b1 bottom. standard g23 build as you all know. but i just want something unique you know what i mean...
